From Yirgacheffe Fields to Family Legacy: A Coffee Journey Brewed with Passion
Imagine the sun-drenched hills of Ethiopia’s Gedeo zone, where two brothers, Samuel and Melkamu Zergaw, dreamt not of riches, but of the perfect cup. Their passion ignited a journey, fuelled by generations of coffee knowledge passed down from their father, Ato Zergaw Teni, and woven into the heart of their sister, Hana Zergaw.
Humble beginnings blossomed into a family united, transforming ancestral wisdom into a thriving business – Wudnesh Trading. Each bean they source, each roast they craft, honours their cherished mother, W/o Wudenesh Haile, whose name graces their venture. In 2014, their dedication received official recognition, a testament to their unwavering spirit.
Honored Person
Inspired by the love of their mother, they set out to create Mangudo Coffee—a brand steeped in honor and respect. “Mangudo,” meaning honored person, embodied the reverence they held for their community’s elders. With their mother’s image adorning the logo, Mangudo Coffee became more than just a blend; it was a tribute to their roots. From humble beginnings to global recognition, the story of Wudnesh Trading and Mangudo Coffee is a testament to family bonds, tradition, and the transformative power of a simple cup of coffee. Today, Mangudo Coffee proudly stands as a renowned coffee export company, sharing the rich flavors of their heritage with the world.

This isn't just coffee; it's a family's story, poured into every cup. Come, savor our journey, and taste the legacy.
We are an organic coffee estate committed to upholding cherished traditions and values.
Sun-dried natural processing
In the dry or “natural” process, coffee cherries are dried whole which is usually done using raised drying beds, though some coffees are also dried on the ground, especially coffees for the local market. Raised beds made out of wood posts, about waist-high, are covered in a material like burlap or nylon netting. Producers lay the coffee cherries, skin and all, out to dry on the beds.
Washed Processing
In the washed or “fully washed” style of processing, the outer skin of the coffee cherry is removed
immediately after harvesting, usually the same day the cherries were picked. This is done using our
machines which “pick” or scrape away just the very outer layer of the cherry, leaving behind the
parchment coffee covered in sticky mucilage.
